Eta Compute Appoints Evan Petridis as Interim Chief Executive Officer

Eta Compute Inc., the leader in battery-powered AI vision, announces today the appointment of Evan Danny Petridis, Eta Compute’s current Chief Product Officer, as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Eta Compute’s previous CEO, Dr. Ted Tewksbury, recently resigned for another opportunity, but will remain involved with the company as an advisor.

“During his tenure as Chief Product Officer, Evan has demonstrated strategic foresight and flawless leadership, making him a natural choice to guide Eta Compute in this new stage of growth,” said Lip-Bu Tan, Eta Compute’s Chairman. .

“Eta Compute has made incredible progress on its next generation AI vision platform, thanks to Evan’s technical leadership. I’m looking forward to working with Evan to take the firm to the next level,” said Hemant Kanakia, Eta Compute Board member. “Evan’s deep understanding of intelligent sensors, and how they best aggregate into large-scale IoT systems, make him uniquely suited to drive Eta Compute’s long-term expansion.”

Mr. Petridis has a diverse and extended history in the technology industry, having created connected products from big-iron network switches to tiny IoT sensing devices.  In his most recent role as Chief Product Officer for Eta Compute, he has led the company development effort in creating innovative, intelligent vision-based sensors. Before that, he was Executive Vice President of Engineering at Enlighted Inc. (now part of Siemens Building Technologies). While there, he spearheaded development and production activities for the company’s end-to-end IoT systems and oversaw one of the largest commercial IoT systems, with millions of deployed sensors and cloud infrastructure delivering multiple applications. Earlier in his career, he was Co-founder and Vice President at Atmosphere Networks (acquired by Ditech Communications Corp.), where he continued as Vice President of Engineering.

Mr. Petridis serves as an advisor and board member to several global technology companies. He earned his bachelor’s degree with First Class Honors from the University of Western Australia, Perth, Australia.

“We are at the dawn of an intelligence revolution at the edge,” said Petridis. “Eta Compute’s low-power AI Vision platform enables us to address untapped markets that have been deprived of innovation for far too long. We will change that.”
